Colin bags an Ace!
Congratulations to Colin Garbutt, who
achieved a hole in one
at the 14th hole in the senior competition on 26th January!
Note concerning handicaps:
CONGU has recently announced changes
to the current handicapping system. From 2010 handicaps will be marked as
Active or Inactive.
To become 'Active' a player must have submitted three cards in either qualifying
events or supplementary scores.
Anyone who does not submit three cards within the year will have their handicap
suffixed by an italic 'i'.
SENIORS v MEMBERS
A new charity competition for 2009 was the idea of Club Captain Norman Harvey
and on Saturday 26th September two teams of 12 fought a better ball stableford
competition
with the club members being victorious by 5 matches to 1. Some excellent
scores were returned by the winning team with a top score of 47 points.
The photographs show both teams before the start and Seniors Captain Bernard Orme presenting the trophy to Captain Norman Harvey.
Over £100 was raised on the day towards the Captains
Charity,
which currently stands at over £4,000
